password jdm fog light install help
i got the yellow pwjdm fogs and wiring kit and have everything hooked up and grounded correctly and still no light.. the brown plug in the kit does not plug into the brown plug in the engine bay, however it plugs into the fuse box in its correct #5 spot according to the directions. the fog light button illuminates on the inside but i dont know why the fogs arent lighting up.. i have everything connected properly and grounded and nothing.. any suggestions? im thinking they sent me the wrong wiring kit because nothing plugs into the brown plug by the washer fluid reservoir in the engine bay.
Here are some directions from another member regarding the pwjdm fogs for our cars.It seems that they are not plug and play.
1. There are red and black wires with ring terminals on them. This installs onto your battery.
2. There's a relay which runs towards the passenger side, I forgot if you have to ground it or not like the OEM one. Bolt that down in case.
3. There a long red wire with two connectors on each end. This runs from the engine bay harness to the interior harness via firewall. You have to run it yourself, there's a grommet near the clutch MC.
4. The engine bay harness should have the one connector that connects to the long red wire on the driver side.
5. For the interior harness, there's one connector that plugs into the fusebox. The instructions tell you which accessory slot it goes into. The fusebox is labeled with the accessory slot number. You match the number in the instructions with the position on the fusebox.
6. Connect the interior harness to the foglight switch.
7. Now connect the other end of the long red wire you ran through the grommet in the firewall to the end of the interior harness that accepts that connection.
8. This kit allows you to turn on the fogs without any keys in the ignition or the headlights turned on. So, make sure you press the switch to turn off so you dont drain your battery.
