Creating a custom thermostat wire
The connector from the harness to the temp gauge sender on the block (underneath the distributor) has ripped off right at the base of the connector so I cannot splice the connector back on, does anyone know of a crafty way to reconnect my wire to the sensor? As of right now my only idea is adding more wire onto the harness and twisting the wire around the metal nipple that is the sensor.
You may be able to use some Resign core solder (spelled right? haha) and connect it that way. Just peel back enough wire and melt some resign core onto the nipple and the wire and let harden. But thats only to fix it....im not sure if it would read correct or accurate but its worth a try.

^^^^ Like clipsed said. Or go to the junkyard and cut the plug off the harness. Just make sure you leave enough wire on the end to splice it back togeather on your harness
