03 civic si VTEC wont engage and running 1/4 temp
I have tried doing some research and have come to the conclusion that my vtec is not engaging due to the fact that my car thinks it is not up to operating temp. It blows hot air if i am cruising down the high way and running but turns cold as soon i start to idle and the temp gauge never goes over 1/4 hot. I know others have this problem but can anyone give me suggestions on how to fix it? (i just traded my truck for this car so im new to the tuner scene but im not a complete retard when it comes to vehicles)
vtec is probably engaged, but its not what you are used to. your cars vtec engages at 2200rpms and it doesnt have that kick i think your looking for. Sorry to say, your car is working fine
Sounds like the thermostat is working properly. EP3/DC5 all blow cold air when stopped, idk why but mine does it too. It only blows hot if you're moving.
check your coolant level in the radiator, add some if its low and it may take care of it. happend to me but i just added some antifreeze and it blows hot air even at idle now.
Mine doesn't blow cold air when I'm stopped... weird...
I also can have my front defroster on with out the A/C on too
