Default ls crank pully not lineing up with TDC

first off sorry if this is the wrong place for this ?....

ok so i got a LS b18a1 i just rebuild the motor from top to bottom only about 20miles on it. well when the CRANK pully shows TDC and lines up with the TDC mark on the timing cover and the single mark on the pully the #1 piston is half way down the hole...

so i put a dip stick in #1 and got the piston at TDC and then looked at the crank pully and the TDC mark is facing the axle, WTF?

i know my rods are NOT broke ect..
what would make this happen
the crank pull "key" is in place and is NOT stripped out.

any ideas and will this make my car not run? because of the crank pos. sensor?
or would that even matter?

Your timing is off then. Line everything up to TDC and re set it.
