Default TPS Replacement

Ok so after testing i determined my TPS is bad. As far as replacement parts go should i avoid any particular brands? I would rather replace it with a new part over just swapping in another TB.

Also as a side note would there be any negative reprocussions if i left the faulty TPS unpugged until i get a new one? It will be less than a week.

Just curious, what test result led you to conclude that the TPS is bad?

As per the service manual i used a multimeter to test the sensor and my results were ok between pins 1 & 2 i was substantially out of spec between pins 2 & 3. Previously i had cleaned my IACV and reset the CEL. It came back with the same code so i did further research and found that the TPS could also be part of the problem which led me to test it. Also as a mistake after testing i forgot to reconnect the TPS and drove home, I noted that the car no longer jerked in any gear when i let off the gas and my idle stayed constant instead of roaming.

Forgot to mention Stock 97' EX 5spd

Sounds good. I assume the resistance of 2-3 but not 1-2 was out of spec for the disconnected TPS.

thats kind of odd.. Tps doesnt usually go bad by itself.. usually it breaks do to human error such as removing the motor with the tps on and it accidently hits the chasis and breaks. I would recommend replacing the green gasket first before replacing it. Try that out

Yes you are correct it was pins 1 & 2. I also failed to mention the engine has 224k on it. Im almost positive the engine hasnt been removed, i know i personally havent taken it out and i highly doubt the one previous owner even touched the engine bay.
