Default Buying B16 Longblock Vs Piecing Motor Together

Im looking to put a B16 into my 00 coupe but I'm not sure which is financially the best way to go about it? I see that alot of people sell blocks for decent prices, and then trying to find a head and tranny would be needed. But I could try and find a complete setup (block and head), and then just look for a tranny and not piece it together.

I'm just looking for opinions of what might be better? I'm partially hesitant when I see blocks for too low prices sometimes, because I don't fully know what to inspect and check when buying a block or head.. Any info would be helpful.. because I'm looking to start soon with this mission.

It comes down to how much money and time you have. I would piece things together if my budget was limited. If the block is sound then go for it and rebuild it.

I can gradually gather all the parts, but I am trying to keep this down as cheap as possible... I mean I've seen blocks for 150 bucks people are selling.. But I'm tryin to make sure that when i'm said and done.. i'm not about to run into major issues..
