BEST turbo under $700 for a stock LS motor street/strip build?
I know the popular turbo is the Garrett T3/T04e 57 trim with .48 or .63 AR. I think there are alot more options out there but I'm just too new at Imports to know.
So for a stock, healthy LS motor what are some great options out there for a mainly street car that sees the 1/4th every now and then? Looking for mostly 250whp on low boost and max of 350whp if needed (damn Vettes).
I've read about the 60-1 but also heard it was too much for a stock motor? This is a turbo that I kinda like and think it would be a good contender? https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...ight=precision

the best turbo is the turbo that will suit your setup.

Also you need to have more details please. Those three turbos are completely different. How will all 3 be the best for my goals?
Given we have the best flowing exhaust (3" downpipe/3" exhaust) the best suited Intercooler along with a good manifold. WHAT will be some of the best turbos out there under $700 that will support 350whp? I don't want a turbo that will make 450whp when I will never use it with this motor...I feel there are better choices out there than a 57 trim. Maybe I'm wrong..
the sc34 will get the power your looking for with a decent spool and be able to support more down the road if you want more. I would just go with the t04e 50 trim though. I had a garrett t04e 57 trim on my ls turbo and it was a little laggier then Id like. but honestly my favorite turbo was just the ebay "50 trim" it was $140 shipped and it spooled up super quick and still made over 300whp on a stock ls-t.
How will a Super 60 be a good turbo that will meet my goals? (ex: 350whp) During my long searching I read that the Super 60 will max out at 260-280whp.

The majority of turbo ratings are not WHP ratings. So a turbo capable of 475hp will realistically make much less than that.
The super 60 will probably max out before 350, but for a street strip car it will give you the throttle response and torque curve like no other.
btw, when the boost bug bites you, youre going to want more power. you say you want 350 max now, but 99% of people go for more afterwards.
you sound like you need to do some more research, we cant spoon feed you everything.

I gave a goal of 350whp. Why are you suggesting a turbo that will not reach my goal?
I think 350whp is pushing it on the stock block. People say 300whp is the max but I've read of people pushing more for cars that don't get driven much. So I feel (again could be wrong) that on a relative healthy stock motor a few 350whp bursts every now and then will be fine.

I do need to do more research no doubt. But there is nothing wrong with asking questions while you do it. If you don't want to "spoon feed" me as you say...move on to another thread.

So? When I build the motor I will get another turbo. I don't want to get a GT35r now and run it on the stock motor only because I plan to make 650whp. That is dumb wouldn't you say?

The sc34 would be a fun turbo for you. I have it on my ls and it's great.
t3 t04e 57 trim with .63ar will be good.

you need to get off the high horse you think your on.. appreciate the fact someone actually replied to this question that gets answered probably 20 times a day.. if you search or check the archives or check the boosted LS thread.. or even a simple google search you can find your answer within minutes instead you choose to sit here and argue with the opinion people give you.. come on your being lazy and cluttering the board with this ****..get a 18g turbo or any turbo with a small turbine housing .48 would be best and reaserch how much Ib/min you need to reach 350 whp at and thats it its simple..
And if everyone just searches all the time there would be no one posting threads to search. BTW I've searched both here and clubintegra for threads titled with something along the lines of this title...nothing. But thanks for the help.

Ditto. I couldn't have said it better myself.
And when the OP says
"heathy stock ls motor".... that in a nut shell already tells me he hasn't even done the basic research needed. This is 2011 not 2001 when there were very few boosted street hondas.
All the test, trails, groundwork as been laid out for you to reach your goals.
Do research, you'll know when you've done enough when you keep getting the same answers.
if you want some resarch tips LMK, I'll glady help.
Learning good researching skills will make you more efficent in learning.
LOL it does? Let me put it in idiot terms..."healthy stock ls motor" means we can assume that the motor has good compression and the leakdown test came out a-ok. Given this what would be a good turbo. Is that better, sugar?
hum... I don't think you understood my point.
Heath or non-heathy motor, it's still stock.
Because it's still stock, so you need to know the limits of the stock motor before you boost.
For example, my brothers DA/LS motor had 181K on it... it was stock, we boosted it with t3t4 at 14psi on e85 it made 290whp...
It is not what I would call a healthy motor. Anything about 350whp on stock B series rods (old or new rods) is questionable and only a matter of time before the snap or rod bolts come loose.
$700 for a turbo is a big budget for only looking to make 350whp.
You should be able to get decent turbo for $500.
The term "best" is subjective, try not to use that word cause your meaning of best is not the same as others meaning of best.
I think it's more important to ask "what is the ideal turbo for my stock LS and driving/racing conditions?"
Good luck
please tell me who really knows the limits of a stock motor
im tired of hearing idiots on here post what they think a stock motor can and or will handle
your not god you have no clue what a stock motor can and or will handle period.
talk about doing your research maybe you need to do a little more reading

op most shops will ahve used but good turbo's sitting around that you can pick up, and use.
I currently am running a used precision pt67 that is capable of 800hp according to my tuner, and i paid $400 for it.

I got my sc34 from a friend for dirt since he wrecked his car and was just trying to make some money from it.
Specs are as follows:
T3 .48 or .63 a/r rear housing 5 bolt or 4 bolt discharge (your choice)
E-compressor cover (.60ar)
Compressor: Inducer 2.230" (56mm) Exducer 2.950" (75mm)
Turbine: HPT-31 Inducer 2.559" (65mm) Exducer 2.228" (56.6mm)
capable of over 535 hp

so are you saying there is no general consensus on what a stock bseries block will hold as for power?
Sure there will always be those uncommon builds where stock motor can make 500-700whp, but do can you base sound advice on that?
So why would you tell him to buy a used 800whp turbo for $400 compared to a new turbo that is more ideal size for his applications? how usable will his powerband be on stock ls motor/redline/cams?
I'm sure you must know what your doing. No doubt about that, but help me understand where your advice is coming from.
No disrespect to you but your advice more gray them mine.
lol
this right here tells me you dont know nearly as much as you should/think you do. Keep reading before you start these threads. There are millions of threads on this topic and to further this debate is doing nothing more than beating a dead horse. youre looking too far into this. 300-350 is easy as **** to do, and to pick a turbocharger is easier than youre making it.
Lets face it, for you to drive an ls with your typical .63ar 57 trim and an SC34 (and im being very vague here in terms of turbo sizes mind you), you wouldnt even be able to tell the difference much less point to the car that has which turbocharger.

I'd love a turbo that would spool up like that but support 350WHP and be under $700!!!
