Icon3 JDM CTR EK9 power folding mirrors question..

I installed a pair of these today and they suck because they're RHD mirrors. I didn't even think twice about that when I bought them but I can't see **** out of these things. Do they make any CDM, AUDM, EDM, anyDM, mirrors like the CTR mirrors but for a LHD 2 dr ek?

get those circle mirror things from autozone and youll be able to see. i think the preluce mirrors are the same part number except for the base plate so you can swap. someone here did it.
but they wont be powerfolding.

You just take your GLASS out and replace only the GLASS from one of the above cars. You can keep your same mirrors, just change glass.

That's not going to fix the problem. On each mirror I have to have them positioned all the way out just to see anything and it's particularly bad on the driver side (left side). I need to find a pair of these mirrors that are for my car but for lhd.

The glass IS the preoblem. The glass is convex, or concave depending on RHD or LHD, and will alter what you can see.

I have had JDM CTR mirrors on a Midori hatch, and I could not see for **** until I switched glass.

I have a RHD Prelude that was LHD. Originally I had my LHD non power folding mirrors, and replaced the GLASS with RHD glass, and it was the same as the JDM power folding I have on it now.

It's the glass. I've been through this bud.

^bro the glass is only part of the problem. i know all the convex blah blah but if you look at the mirror housing, on the rhd ones the drivers side it only opens so much as where in the passenger side it opens alot (Im speaking all LHD wise) and if you look at othe cars with similar mirrors (ie integra) the drives side is the one thats open alot compared to the same side in rhd-spec mirrors

well then i guess i'll take your word for it "Rude Awakening". it just seems like, even with the correct mirrors, there'd still be an issue..

since my left mirror is more inwards than the other... the complete opposite of LHD mirrors

I haven't searched this for EKs but I know for other cars (in my case the '90-'93 Accord) you can use the USDM housings and put the folding motors into them. This will cure the vision problems associated with using the JDM mirrors. The angles that the mirrors mount to the vehicle favor the driver sitting on the right side. Someone sitting on the left side cannot see and should use the method linked above to rectify the situation.

Here's a CB guide from CB7Tuner.com. It has great pictures and is very informative.

The PROPER way to do this actually requires two sets of mirrors, one JDM CTR set, and one Acura EL, or EDM LHD manual folding set.

You take the guts out of the JDM power folding ones and put them into the EDM LHD bases, using USDM integra mirror glass. Then you have power folding, LHD wing mirrors with LHD glass. But that'll end up costing you about $600 unless you can find some killer deals.

I have my PFMs adjusted where I can pretty much see everything. It does look awkward however. But, on the other hand my wink mirror lets me see everything when I look up.
