Default EK Civic sounds like its going to fall apart

Kinda sad, but when I'm driving on even a slightly bumpy road my civic sounds awful. The suspension makes all types of creaks and terrible sounds. I usually turn my radio up to ignore it, but it just sounds like everything is going to fall apart.

Would replacing the upper and lower control arm bushings, as well as the motor mounts and sway bars/sway bar bushings fix my problem?

Also - theres is a large amount of road noise inside my car... I have had the floor and trunk dynomated but it didnt seem to do much at all...

we need to know a few more things.

What kind of car? Please dont put EK, that only helps to a certain point.

Is the car lowerd? If so, how?

Do you have camber kits. If so, what kind? Have you checked there bushings?

Have you check any other suspension bushing?

How many miles on the suspension?

Have you replaced anything suspension related?

Sounds stupid, but are all your bolts tight?

2000 Civic Ex
Lowered on Tein Flex - 6k miles
Camber kits have been proven to be a waste.
Haven't checked the bushings yet, but after 129k theyre needing to be replaced anyway
And yes bolts are tight.

Did you buy the flex's brand new? My car has some noises coming from the rear, I am pretty sure it's due to my blown *** shocks.

Camber kit's really arent a waste, just not needed in most cases. Really dont want to start another camber kit arguing match, so Ill stop there.

Can you pin-point what side it is coming from? Should make it easier to find the problem(s)

Yeah flex were new. I don't like them so I'm getting koni/ground control soon. The noise isn't on any particular side. It just sounds like that POS car you see a broke *** drive in a movie that falls apart lol.

My OEM upper control arm bushings squeaked pretty bad when they got old. New upper arms with upper ball joints included fixed that right up.

As for road noise, Dynamat or other butyl rubber-based material really doesn't do jack shyt for road noise. They're more for damping low frequency (like subwoofer) vibrations. To really cut down on road noise you need something like a closed-cell foam material. Check out Elemental Designs, they have some 1/4" self adhesive foam material for $2 per square foot, order as much or as little as you like.

My entire car is lined with butyl rubber sound deadening and it's still loud as hell inside. I want to add the foam material at some point.

45 and 80 is the butyl stuff with aluminum facing. 45 and 80 refer to the mil thickness. v4 is the foam stuff. v3 is a liquid that you brush or roll on and IMHO way too messy to fool with.

I got 125 s.f. of the 45 and covered my entire floor front to back, plus doors, quarter panels, and the backsides of most of the plastic panels, and even doubled it up in some places on the floor. You could probably do a single layer of the foam stuff with about 100 s.f.
