i have the s&w 8point for sale, i never came around to putting it on but the ones ive seen on look ok, you just don't get all the tight fitment as when you make a custom one, but for the price you cant complain

just got done with my s&w and cant beat it for the money unless u own ur own fab shop and can bend it urself. it still fits tight. just got to gring out there fish cuts a little for it to fit like a golve. they get it close so u only have to fine tweek it. couldnt be happier with the s&w kit. Mine was a 10 point. everyone around that i know with a race car uses a s&w kit. i would recommend them to anyone.

I have the S&W 10 point cage ordered from safe drives. They shop that installed it said it fit pretty good, except the windshield post runners had to be bent inwards more and cut because they were to tall. I think he also had to finish the notches to fit better. Other than that, the cage fit and looks good. Best bang for the buck.

I have a 10 point S&W cage in my car. I remade my bars going threw the dash to fit tighter but other than that looks really good for the money.

the S&W kits fit great except for the A pillar(windshield bars) they need to be bent inward at the top to push the bar closer to the pillar. mine are too far out for my liking, but what can you do.

i have a Kens Kustoms 10 point, and it fits really tight. My doors even close well with the door bars. I can't complain. (it was almost $1000 less than the "custom" quotes i was getting.)

only issue i have now is with the new rocker bar rule. I have to get that sorted out then i'm set to cert. I got a quote of $300 to add the bar to make it legal.

I agree with the above general comments. Yeah, custom is super sick, and expensive. S&W was the best value for me. If you understand that nothing is going to just fall into the car like a glove, cleaning up some notches isn't that bad.

The quickest pic I could find of mine just after I welded it in. Hope it helps.

Theidealone and I will be putting in a S&W in his ED here as soon as the weather gets better here in CO. I have one of the jegs 79-93 mustang 10 points in my ED and the only complaint I share with the above posts is that the pillar bars could be bent a little differently. Although its proably works in a stang a little better

the ones that were off the most were the pillar bars they were not bent equally, and roof bar had to be cut and reshaped, everything else was just notching, the hardest thing is if you have no experience or ever seen one installed in person, search the internet day and night to find a clear pic of installed cages like the one you have.
I am happy with it now but if ever did it again I would choose a different one. but you cannot beat under $500 for it shipped to my location.

I dealt with safe drives a few years ago when I bought a Moly 8pt for my car, they sent me an 8pt for a Nissan 240 and after going around and around with them they pretty much told me to go screw myself they wont swap it but I can drive to S&W and pick up a new hoop (all the other bars they said would work). Picked up the new hoop and had to cut up the rest of the kit pretty good to get it all to work but it came out well. I called up Ken's Custom Chassis and he sent me his 8-10pt conversion kit (got it in like 5 days, highly recommend them).

I have seen both S&W 10pt's and Ken's 10pt's and I vote Ken's all day.

Here is my car with the S&W and Ken's stuff mixed together, came out pretty good IMO I have about $850 in material in it and I worked in my friends fab shop and matched him hr for hr that he had in the car welding it in, so it was much cheaper than $2500-3000 for a custom. This cage was his and my first time doing a cage I think we had about 30hrs in it total re-fitting and re-notching everything to work together.

Both Kens and SW are pre-bent kits, they dont fit like a glove but they get the job done. The only difference I noticed is the SW kits use basically another hoop at the top to connect to the pillar bars and the main hoop and the Kens kits use a full bar from the main hoop to the floor up front on both sides, with just a small bar straight bar across the windshield if that makes any sense.

when I said I had to cut and re notched bars I don't mean cleaning up notches, I mean cutting as much as 8" off the roof bar, main hoop, door bars, and pillar bars, then notched them, the only parts that fell into place were the dash bar and back bars, this is 10 point not a 6 point so it requires more work, so they could have made the roof bar and pillars to correct size, I suspected they just made the cages for car category instead of for specific make and model.

Agreed! They included the rocker bar with it for the same price listed. But it came too short (had wrong measurements in their diagram). So I emailed, they sent another, but it was the same size. So I called, talked to the manager, he directed me to their engineer, and he fixed it. Sent me a bar that was long enough for me to bend, and still had a couple inches left. All for free. Never had to pay extra shipping.

Great company to deal with!!!

Guys, please if you're are going to get the S&W kit please support a vendor that has supported H-T since 2005 and get it from www.safedrives.com. We sell the kit for the exact same price as S&W. I also welcome questions anytime. Thanks!
