when going at lower speeds ( usually around 35 and under),
if im very stedily accelerating my mortor feels like it bogs down at about 2.5k rpms

this problem doesnt happen when im going over 40 mph usually ,or accelerating faster..

my guess is might have something to do with exhaust.. My headers are dented on the bottom pretty bad, and i have a stock muffler on what i think is 2.5" exhaust.
i know i wil for sure be buying new headers, And muffler.
but this hasnt happened before i THAT I KNOW OF, And my headers have been dented for a while.

just thought i would go to ht first and see if it might be anything else i might have to worry about.

 

 

First off, v8 swap? I was just assuming this because you have headers

But is this a stock motor, or is it cammed or anything?

 

It may be the dent, but have you checked your ignition system? plugs/wires/cap/rotor/distributor?
I had the same problem, also with a badly dented header. It was just the plugs

 

According to the sig he has B16A2 in an EJ1.

 

LOL .. call me crazy, but im PRETTY sure almost every motor has headers...

He has headers if it's dual exhaust. And that would probably slow him down at 2.5k.

What gear are you in when it bogs down? What about the same RPMs in a different gear?
