Default Cable trans into EG

Is it worth it? is there a downside to doing it?

I have a b16 with cable trans(s1) and was wondering if i should just get the hasport mount kit for cable tranny in eg or just get a hydro tranny.

a possible problem is i already have an ACT clutch kit from my last build(b20vtec w/ cable trans) and dont know if it will work on a hydro tranny and i dont want to buy another clutch kit.

any suggestions. im looking for a hydro now.....

Don't totally rely on this but if your cable transmission was a 1992-1993 then I do believe that you can use the clutch items with a hydro transmission.

As keeping your cable transmission and placing it in your eg, I had a friend do it and it seamed to work fine for him. However, we all should know that cable transmissions are older so have way more miles on them. I would suggest you sell the cable and find a hydro B16 transmission.

Just my $0.02 so use it wisely!

Personally I don't think it's worth it, you need to buy a hydro to cable kit (which rarely seems to work right and not cause clutch engagement issues) and you've still got a crappy cable tranny. My advice? Sell the cable tranny to someone with an EF/DA and buy a hydro tranny.

The s1 Trans are small spline, so you will have to use a 92-up clutch. And no its not worth it, it would just be easier to get a 92-93 GSR trans and a new clutch than converting to hydro,

No. They are small spline, but small spline uses a '90 - '91 Integra clutch.

Also, the OP has an EG, the car is already hydro.
