They are decent, IF you have good shocks.
They are a lot better then Ebay coilovers, however they are not the best nor the worst you can buy.

My friend has/had (not sure if he still has them), they got him pretty low and didnt ride terribly. before he slammed the car, they actually were pretty good. Has Koni Sports.

Yes, you could do better, but better is going to cost you more.

I would lump those together with "eBay" kits. I personally don't put much confidence in any sleeve-type adjustable coilover other than Ground Controls.

A little more would be skunk2 slip ons, I curently have those.

I don't hate them, but I don't love them.
The car handles great, but the ride quaility is gone.

I would really recomend taking a look at ground control, they run around 300-350, but they really are the best slip on you can buy.

Then you'll want to upgrade shocks. Maybe not now, but you will want them. That is where koni's come in.

save for the 799 koni/gc combo and come back to ask about rates before you buy

biggest reason? you won't be changing them while you own the car. with so much crap like tokico blues, random lowering springs and other parts you get them, drive a few months, hate them, then buy more crap to change out. with the koni / gc kit you buy once and actually have a functional setup

i was thinking of going with some ground control coilovers soon. i was wondering if i buy the ones that are made to go with konis will i still be able to run my stock shocks until i'm able to afford the koni's later on, or are they strictly made for koni's only?

You really should start your own thread for this.

Honestly I cant say for sure if you would be able to not, but I would think you could.

koni specific GC's have a recessed location for the koni c clip. that said a koni gc would work or should work on a regular shock but a regular gc won't work on a koni sport.

the koni str.t uses non koni gc's if anyone is wondering

No, the Koni-specific GC sleeves will not work on non-Koni Sport shocks.

OP you really should buy both Koni Sports and Koni-specific GC sleeves at the same time. Don't try to buy one, use them with different parts, then buy the other later and expect it all to work together correctly.

well since you were getting on the same subject with the ground controls and koni's i thought i could throw a quick question out there. didn't want to make a whole thread for a yes or no answer, but i guess i should then.

why?

you ever try it?

i mean, i was thinking it out and unless there is a diameter difference i don't see how it would really be an issue

what's the reasoning?

That is what I am thinking.

I wouldn't think there is a difference in the diameter becuase you can use non Koni Sleeves on koni shocks, as long as you use the adapters.

No, you CAN NOT use regular GC sleeves on Koni Sport shocks. See this thread:

https://honda-tech.com/forums/suspension-brakes-54/%2A%2A%2Aattention-corrected-koni-ground-control-information-%2A%2A%2A-2749161/

Cliffs: NEVER use standard GC sleeves with Koni Sport shocks. Get the correct sleeves and stay safe.
I have also heard from several people on here, including people who work at both Koni and Ground Control, that the Koni GC sleeves will not work on non-Koni shocks. I have contacted Ground Control to verify.

non koni on konis is a given

what's the thought process behind koni gc's on non konis though? i'm thinking this out in my head and can't come up with any dangers

Difference in shock body diameter and the Koni sleeve matching the Koni shock diameter? If the OE or other shocks are the slightest bit larger in OD then the Koni sleeves won't fit.

I don't know for sure if that's true (I could measure my Konis and stockers some time), but I know I've seen more than one person "in the know" say they won't work.

Just let me see what GC gets back to me with.

Directly from Mark @ Ground Control:

They [Koni-specific sleeves] are not [compatible with stock shocks].

The Koni sleeves are significantly smaller diameter than the standard sleeves.

Why do you knock say the Megan's or skunk 2's so hard? I understand the reason you like Koni's but a spring rate is a spring rate right? As long as there is sufficient valving behind the strut/shock it should work just fine.

Right, however you wont have a tried and true setup, with LIFETIME WARRENTY.

I have no expereince with them, however, I would even give them a chance, save $200 more and get a setup youll have a long time.

Yea ur right on that. I think they only offer one year warranty on those lol.

I'm actually willing to be a guinny pig on these and give them a try. Only reason is because of the dampening lol. Oh well. We'll see sometime next week how they do lol
