1. What are the safety requirements for the HPDE for the cars? I would like to take the H5 car out once and then my CSP car for comparison.

Go to http://www.honda-challenge.com . Click on Number Assignments. Yes, 8 is taken... at least for this year. Many of the people who paid for a number assignment never used it. Things may change next year.

Talk to Elyse (Lees Z) about registering multiple cars. For the most part the safety regs are the same as in an autocross. They will look a little more closely at things like lugnuts and they won't let you out with a harness unless you have rollover protection.
At least 4 HPDEs including 1 spent in the Advanced group. You can then be evaluated. Run as many events as you can and do the competition school. Going from autocross to track driving is not as easy as you might want to believe.
