2003 Element odometer/tripmeter not illuminated
Hi, Everybody. I have two elements, awd's, a 2003 with manual trans., and a 2006 with auto trans. I always reset the tripmeters (both A and B) to zero when I gas up. Did it yesterday on the 2003 and this morning when I started up the car, the odometer/tripmeter did not illuminate. Can't tell from the owners manual what powers it. Ideas? Can't see anything else not working..

The 2 odometer bulbs may be burnt out. Quite common. Usually one bulb has previously burnt out, and it isn't notice until the second one also burns out. See this link on how to replace.

Replacing the bulbs worked. For some reason, I had thought that the problem was a fuse or relay problem. Thanks for the show and tell link, it was perfect.
Hi. This is a bit off-topic, but I bought a used Honda CR-V 2009 (full options) just last week. The mileage read 34000 km but the car's condition from the inside doesn't live up to that claim. Also, a few days after I got the car, the speedometer and the RPM gauge went haywire, pointing randomly. I opened the box behind the steering wheel to find a couple of wires that were disconnected and put back using insulating tape. Does this appear like a case of mileage fraud?
