I have an 88' CRX HF and i'm having a problem with the hatch not lining up. Could it be the wrong year hatch or are they all interchangeable? Let me know.

All 88-91 hatches are the same, unless it's the hatch off a 1st gen it should fit. Can you take any pics to show us how far off it is?

 

you can adjust it a little bit at the top of the hatch, four bolts but you will have to reseal it to keep the water out. Also you can adjust the hatch latch.

 

The back right corner of the hatch wont clear the car. The right side is fine.

 

If you can't adjust the bolts to get it close enough into alignment then the whole frame of the hatch might be tweaked. Like if somebody tried to back out of the garage with it open type of thing. Or if the car has been wrecked in the rear before than your car could be no so square anymore. If hatch is tweaked, find a new one, you'll never get it straight without popping the window. If your car isn't square, find a new one.

 

Well i'm kinda thinkin the car might be tweaked cuz of the way it gaps. But i think i'm just gonna get a fiberglass hatch and make it work. Got too much money in the car itself.

 

I've had CRX's that have been hit in the rear quarter and it closed up that gap, that metal is really soft and a slide hammer or a hammer on a block of wood in the jamb area will let you gain a good 1/8" before noticeably distorting the shape of the piller/1/4 panel.

 

Sounds like the car was rear ended at one point lol
