Default Upper idler puller siezed? ep3

The past 2 days I've been hearing a funny sound from the motor, first I thought it was the tranny, then noticed it this morning while it was warming up at idle and it got pretty loud. I couldn't pin point it until the inevitable happened on the way home from work when I hear a loud bang and something dragging under the car. the battery light goes on and I pull over asap. Pop the hood and notice the serp belt is hanging from under the car. I'm less than a mile from a honda dealer so I limp the car there and after further inspection I find the upper most idle pully had snapped off the bracket taking a small portion of the bracket with the pulley, somehow the pully and bracket fused together and I guess after time finally siezed up causing the belt to rip the pulley off. Anyone hear of this before?

First time I've ever heard of it. Good luck with the fix though.

Yeah thats first for me also... Mine is actually making a little noise now, its due for replacement. Im actually saving up for the ktuned idler pulley, it allows for some adjustment.

It happened to me. It has a sealed bearing so over time it just gets worn out. Mine froze up and I had to replace to pulley but my belt was fine so I just put it back on.

I had mine replaced under warranty for making noise. They do go bad, but I've never heard of it seizing like that.
