Jdm h22 penzoil platnium?
About to drop my h22 into my 96 accord not positive of mileage but when breaking down engine found no issues cylinder walls and pistons looked great planning on starting off with sythetic oil 5w30 with engine being used and broke in should be fine to run this oil correct?
Help me understand this....."but when breaking down engine found no issues cylinder walls and pistons" and then "engine being used and broke in should be fine to run this oil correct". So was it rebuilt or just dropped in.
Either way. I'd go with a good conventional oil (old days we used 30w ND) for break in. then after break in go with the $6 a qt oil....oh and a new filter as well.

Engine not rebuilt just replaced gaskets seals n pumps cleaned up everything engine is used n already broke in thats why I say synthetic should be ok. Oil pan dropped n cleaned also no gunk or buildup
Cool, got it. again I might consider a "quick" change on the oil and filter before going prem(500~1K miles)...just my opinion. After that then by all means use what you think is best.
I used Mobile1 straight off the bat as soon as I got done with my swap. No breaking-in required. Only break-in is when you install new internals then use conventional as your break-in oil.
