The TSX K24 sports many advantages over a regular K20. I would pick the bigger more powerful and stronger engine any day of the week!

Umm no. They still use a hydraulic clutch. They're cable shifted but that's not the same thing. And the biggest reason for that was you can put the shifter wherever you want with shift cables, a solid linkage can really only go in one place. This isn't new though, Honda started going to cable shifted transmissions way back on Preludes and accords, think late '80s. Also the bar linkage, it goes back to like 1973 IIRC when the Civic first came out. All that said I prefer a solid linkage, the feel is much better, it's comparable to having the shifter mounted right in the transmission like most RWDs. Cables feel sloppy and can stretch and break ('06 - current non-Si Civics seem to be the worst as far as feel goes)

I hate the cable shifter on my H Swap it sucks..As for K20 vs K24. K24 is the way to go that thing is a beast of an engine and puts out way more torque than the k20 and can be found for 500-1000 bucks.
It depends what your trying to do with the car that should decide what engine you want to use. Like stated above the k20 is better for high revving situations....if you want a torquier engine, like if your rallying i would go with the k24
Im a torque guy I always go with the engine with more torque. with my H23 Vtec I walk on RSX type S all day unless they are built but even then im right on their tail. But! they will get me in the long run cuz my engine is just built for a quick sprint.
Are you saying your motor will give out on a multiple mile race? Or that they'll beat you to 200mph?
oh god no lol im just saying I have alot longer stroke than the K20 does with my 95mm crank I can only rev to about 7.5 and some time 8k on track days in order to take atvantage of the low powerband I have a custom Euro R gear box matted to my H23 vtec. so my top speed is pretty low. and with the K20 it has a more desirable gear raio and 6 gears, top speed is not an issue. I could put and h23 tranz on if i wanted a higher top speed but I dont lol They would deff beat me to 200 mph .

As you haven't done much research I don't suppose you have read much about the k20/24 frank builds?
If it sounds like something that would interest you, give me a pm and I'll link you to alias of info you can read up on

I would love to build a K24! I have a K24 block but thats as far as Ive gone with it. becasue I decided to go H series cuz It was mor affordable and produced similar horse power. I like to go against the grain and be different. everyone is doing k swaps now. and it ticks them off when I beat their RSX with my H powered 4 door lol
