reuse oem bearings with rebuild?
im gonna be doin a z6 eagle vitara build. i read and read and everyone rant and raves about acl and oem. i understand u can get oem bearing to fit exact but acl king etc is a one size fits all. my question is could a just reuse the main and rod bearings i take out if its coming from a low mile engine vs 190xxx mile engine vs just buying kings and hope no clearence issues. (with eagle rods)
also anyone know where i can a single vitara? THANKS!

The eagle rods will not have the same clearances as your OEM rods so even if it was a good idea it wouldn't work out quite like you think.

IMO oem Honda bearings are hard to beat. I've used them on all three of my motor builds, current setup is even running two different size main bearings.
* Edit * I just noticed the title said reuse.. I would never reuse any bearings with a motor build.

now to my understanding the eagle rods are sized to match the green bearings, but you still have to combine that with the crank markings, you could easily wind up one or 2 colors on either side of green. best best way to do it is to mic everything out, find out the difference between crank and journal size, divide that by 2 and find the oem bearing that fits that size with a difference of like .0015 or so to account for tolerences
I wouldnt re-use bearings under any circumstance. If the clearances are off, you'll either have metal-on-metal contact which will eat the bearing or you'll have low oil pressure if the clearances are too loose. If you must re-use, check carefully with Plastigauge to be sure you're within spec...
