OT: Formula 1 Race at Indy this coming weekend....
Anyone from here going? Myself, Joey (Rexman), Victor (97R-312) and some friends from Roanoke will be going to the race. We will be staying in Speedway, IN, and if you would like to meet up, just give my cell phone a call 703.400.7878. We may try and go see the USAC Midgets race Friday night at Indianapolis Raceway Park, should be a lot of fun with that. We'll be at the track all day, and if we have any energy, try to pick up F1 chicks at the bars (riiiiiiiight, they most likely wont even give us the middle finger to get out of their faces
). Anyways, if you want to meet some real live Virginians out of their natural habitat, gimme a call and we can try and meet up!

F1 Indy
Does nothing for me, it's even a boring track in the video games!
F1 Montreal (2003)
That's where I'll be to see Schumacher in his final season in F1 on his way to his epic 6th World Championship. Hell yeah, I can't wait for June.

Hey any day you get to hear F1 engines screaming by at 18,000 RPMs, its a good day. Enjoy it!!
18,000 rpms , they can go in reverse and it would still be worth a watch

in teh beginning of the race and if they got a lead, back it down to 17,500 rpms. You know for realiability purposes. Insane. Have fun at the race

I still remember waking up to the sound of F1 motors in Phoenix ... back in the day!

Anyone who thinks the USGP is boring wasnt there in 2000 when DC drafted MH on the banked oval to bump himself up in qualifying....
two Illmor Mercedes motors with their characteristic sound through the echoing front straight at Indy at over 190MPH boring?
Also they haven't really had a true wet race there. If they do, that banking will become VERY interesting.
Also how much was your hotel room?

I'll be there. 3rd year there.
We stay in Kokomo about 50 miles north, makes it easier to go out to dinner and stuff.
I'll be at the track Friday, Sat, and Sunday. Where are your tickets?
We sit high in the NW Vista.

Our seats are Stand C, Section 10, Row PP. Looks to give a very very nice view of turns 1-6. I'm pretty sure we will roam around when we dont have to sit in the seats on Friday and Saturday though.
And I'm not sure what the hotel room cost, but its being divided amongst 6 people, so it shouldn't be too bad

Wow, how did you get a room in Speedway?! Last year, the closest I could find was Cincinnati.
Good luck and have fun at the race everyone
I have stayed in Downtown Indy for the race the last two years. It is the best if you don't mind the price ($400 per night) and signup early enough. Good food and entertainment all in walking distance and the track is a short drive. Not to mention you can always be on the look out for Uncle Berine in the back of one of those S Classes. Anyway, as for borning, Montoya's pass on Schumacher last year was great (too bad the car couldn't take him all the way). I think my air horn ran out of juice! Hope to see that happen again this year but it not looking promising. Oh well, there is always next year.
18,000rpms?! hehehehe....when do they hit VTEC? 12,500rpms?!
I wish I could go, but I can't justify the 10hr drive with all the work i have piled up...oh well, maybe next year, which is what i said last year
Is this your first time going? If so man you are going to have a blast. If you get to the infield were the drivers come in (last year it was clearly marked) you will have a chance to get some autographs. Last year I got Ross Brawn, Pierre Dipas...ahh the Michelin man
, and Eddie Jordan. I got to see close up on the other hand almost every driver (except Mika, and David the 2 I really wanted to see). Michael looks funny in person, and JPM looks to be about 4'10. I have tickets to go this year but I don't know that I can get the time off from work
If I do got I will be in the RV parking grilling out every night. If your interested IM and well work something out. Last but not least don't be stupid and get some ear plugs. Man after awhile they really start to hurt your ears when they go by.
Also if you get a chance there is an awesome Karting track in downtown Indy called Racers. It is a small course but it is paved and has the coolest barriers in the world. Check it out you will love it.

You ain't kidding.

That was the only race I HAD to wear ear protection. Damn near went deaf after the morning warm-up.
I'm going, this is my first time, I'll be staying about an hour south since my gf is from there.
How bad is the parking situation? Is it worth taking one of the shuttles from downton or is parking not so bad since attendance seems to be less than the 500.

You were at the Phoenix GP too? Excellent.
Drove from VA via Denver to pick up a friend on the way out!
Those bicycle and electric car races ....
Next time I do the Canadian GP I need to stay downtown.
