2001 Accord V6
Hello All! Before anyone gives me crap, understand that I am a college student on a budget whose only source of income is his National Guard Pay ( sorry noticed some complaints about the company i purchased my RS from) who just wants his girlfriend to be safer leaving her job at 4 am on cold Ohio mornings. That being said, i purchased a Crimestoppers remote starter (RS-4G2) and Fortrin SL3 bypass. I am confident in my ability to install it as i made my own wiring harness for my 72 Ford F100 Lowrider so that is not an issue. The part that concerns me is the vagueness of the instructions, too many ifs and or IMO. The car(2001 Accord V6) has the factory alarm and remote locks. I would like the car to run off one remote but the RS implies i might need another part? The seller provided me with a wiring diagram, www.wirecolor.com. The diagram implies that i must cut the factory alarm(yellow wire/green connector behind glove box). Will the car no longer have a functioning alarm? The wiring diagram also doesn't supply me with the oem disarm(-) and oem rearm(-) locations...? I assume this is why i was told to cut the yellow wire. I plan on thoroughly planning my install due to school and upcoming pre-deployment training reducing my available time so i also plan on asking several more questions as a draw it all up. I truely appreciate any feed back, answers, and suggestions anyone can provide. Also i am more than willing to upload pictures as i install as i have foun the internet lacking in this regard( to help with future installs and as a resource). I apologize for length but i wanted to be thorough, thanks again. Spc Romano
