Creep over to S2ki.com and search for removing softop. You'll find several how to's with pictures. You'll be able to do it that way. I have removed those panels completely several times now, lol.

no, you do not need to take your soft top off. all you need to do is take your seat out, and the two cover for the metal hoop. the seats belt roller should be behind it.

just keep unbolting stuff until you get to where you need to be. they engineered everything so mechanics could figure it out by "discovering". most of the time at least

its not the easies thing to do int he world no the softtop does not have to come out but it might as well lol

remove seats, center console, all plastic behind seats, top console pocket, rear tray (under softop), side pieces, then you can unbolt the roll bars and get to the seat belt retractors, god i hated that recall for early AP1's

doubt it! The seat belts are easy to take in and out. I did it in mine in like 5 minutes. Just fallow the belt up and down; use common sense.

I think you need a mechanic. This is about the simplest thing ever.

I have the passenger belt looped around the seat adjuster and the belt is locked - so cannot move the seat to remove seat - really appreciate any suggestions/help please! Seems a catch 22....
Its on my 2001 S2k- had it from new - still only 30k miles!
