Default 90-91 bumpers on an 88

I searched and couldn't come up with anything. I wanna swap 90-91 crx bumper covers front and rear onto my 88 crx. Will I need to use 90-91 bumper supports or will the 88s work fine?

rear should be fine, front will have to match the bumper. the 90-91 use longer bumper lights. the opening on the 88-89 bumper support will not be enough to clear the new bumper lights.

The side molding are gonna look funny. I see ppl who grafted an off year bumper, probably as a cheap collision fix, and it always looks bad. So plan on getting the side moldings too.

I tried to use a 88 front bumper support on my 91 bumper cover. No Good. The 88 support does not have the openings for the fog lights and is shaped differently. You'll need to keep the front bumper cover the same years as the front support.

Ordered them through Honda today. I agree that always looks horrible.

Thanks for the info on the front support guys.

I'm doing the same on my 89 sedan. Let me know how the front swap goes and what you need. The rear and moldings were easy. I haven't tried the front yet.

All you need is the front support that matches the cover, but why would u want to get rid of the sick *** JDM side moldings? Jk. I like the 88-89 moldings better than the 90-91 it was one of the main reasons for buying my 88 hatch.

I didn't wanna start a new thread but does anyone know where I can purchase a new OEM or even aftermarket rear bumper cover for 90-91 crx? Parts discontinued from Honda and I can't find an aftermarket one either, all I can find is the front.
