crank sensor is behind the crank pulley in obd2 cars. as you said its behind the timing cover on the bottom. is it showing a missfire at all?

Code 4 is for the CKP sensor inside the distributor, not the CKF sensor. Measure the resistance of the CKP sensor and check the two CKP wires.

I did say CRK PS SENSOR I believe that is short for Crank Position Sensor

I wish i knew more about OBD 2 motor. This D series is got no crank position sensor. I looked at his old engine and it has the clip. And the sensor is down low. Now hes tellin me the thing aint there on the new engine.

I told him we have everything to do it. but idk how to do it or install the dam thing on this engine

We were arguing about the distributor that came on it. Hes telling me its OBD 1 and i said the F it is. My car is OBD1 and it has WAY dif connectorrs.

Now this dist. Has some LONG THIN black 1 plug dist. No indication of a CRK PS sensor on this perticular Dist. LIKE I SAID I BELIEVE IT IS OBD II DIST. some diff plug i never saw.

The engine does not have the crk pos sensor on it. can i install the d16y or what ever the DX had in it originally .?

I have not been in the car yet so i dont think it is mis firing. I timed it and it seemed ok.

Wondering if the sensor will bolt up under all the timing belt cover plastic ****, please let me know if this is possible

And maby some one knows what the hell type of engine this is. It was purchased as a D15b.

I dont know jack about these mix-matched D series. (why i have a B)

Again the Dist. Plug is LONG thin and BLACK... the car was not equipped with a crk ps sensor at the crank pulley location. thats all.

Just trying to get some more info on a d series engine. Helping my brother out. i know the plug is missing
