Default Tail/Dash lights not working

the problem just started a couple days ago. my tail/dash lights stopped coming one when i initially turned the car on, but comes on eventually. any ideal on a good place to start troubleshooting?

edit:
just went out and tried it again, turned the headlights on and no dash or tail lights, or corner lights (didn't know they were all connected). turn the driving lights on, everything is on. turn to the headlights again and everything comes on, then goes off. could it be the switch?

Intermittent issues usually are not fuses. If a fuse blows, it will not be passing power so whatever it was supplying no longer has power.

I would guess it is the switch. Especially how you mentioned that turning the switch on/off will sometimes allow the lights to turn on.

problem turned out to be the actual switch on the steering column.
