Alright I bought a 89 sedan a while back been dailying it for a while. Well when I bought it the oil light kept popping on and off but the car didn't smoke that bad only when it started. but now after time it seems to be getting worse.

So now Im home for Christmas break, and I decided I was going to figure out the problem. I pull out the spark plugs and the bottoms were soaked in oil... along with the spark plug wires. Which makes me think that its the head gasket. Or could it be more? I tightened them down to specs and now the wires dont have oil on them except cylinder 1. I'm not a 100% sure that its the head gasket because oil isnt seeping out of the motor.

I just need a little help, I don't think its the piston rings but I could be wrong. I'm leaving tomorrow to go back to school so I need info asap. I was planning on rebuilding the motor this summer, can it wait or should I attempt to replace it tomorrow?

smokey start, most likely valve stem seals,
oil light off and on?, low oil, oil pump goin out, bad oil pressure sending unit
oil on spark plugs/wires, probably your valve cover gasket (spark plug hole seals)
