cable bell housing on hydro case?
I just got a 89 si (cable car) with an ITR motor and S80 hydro tranny. Car has HASPORT cable/hydro conversion. Works but not comfortable, pedal too stiff and no feel and not any fun. Wanting to put a 92-93 Integra YS1 cable bell housing on my S80 with LSD hydro case. This would keep me all OEM cable with hydro case and interals. I would have to adapt the cable bracket to the hydro case, but that may be easier than swapping internals. I would rather have OEM cable rather than cable/hydro conversion or all hydro conversion that requires cutting the car up and no a/c or defrost on driver side. Bad knees and I need the OEM pedal feel, not stiff cable breaking pedal effort required by the cable/hydro conversions. Why has nobody just changed the bell housing so it will be all cable, can it be done?
I was stating bell housing but you are essentially spiltting the transmission case. So if I am splitting the case I might as well use the YS1 case and just place my S80 hydro interals and have all cable. Swaps... are they worth it. They are when that tach its 9500. Trailer Park Ferrari.
I would use both YS1 cases as a matched set if you have them. Be sure to check all your clearances before sealing it all up! Good luck bro!
this is what i will be running actually in my car, but it is a FULL hydro setup with a cable case. the only difference is that i will have a hydro slave and steel braided line. everything is already mounted and linked up.
