I have driven it many times and i to will be running in sprints this weekend. Hope to see you there.

Its quite a fast track with lots of high speed sweepers, blind turns, elevation changes etc. Its got it all. Because it is such a fast course, it can be quite dangerous if you go off, but most of all, its so much fun. Have fun!

Cool, I will see you on the track, what are your times typically around Mosport?
The car I am driving has done 27's, it had slightly more hp at that time though, around 520-550, it has 480 currently.
I will be happy to get somewhere close to a 1.30. I have no experience at Mosport, just AMP and Tremblant.
Did you run at Mosport last year, I don't remember an EG GT car.
Maybe I can follow you for a couple laps, pick up the line.

Yeah at 1.30 you are doing very well. The track can be a little daunting but does pay large dividens for the high horsepower crowd.

Have watched a lot of it though and have been there a few times. Looks great and looks fast.

1:27's? Hory chit that's fast! What kind of car are you running? Looks like a GT Corvette based on your avatar. Anyway, you're going to loooove Mosport, it's truly one of the finest road courses in North America if not the world, and with all that horsepower you are really going to enjoy it to the fullest. It'll definitely test your courage in places, it's a track that rewards testicular endowment It's surprisingly easy on brakes and tires too, which is nice.

I'll be out as a spectator (cheering on ITRRacer) so I'll look you up in the paddock

Cheers,
Dave

Its a GT-1 Corvette that I am driving. I am really looking forward to driving Mosport, just a little nervous though, my local track (AMP) is not quite as fast
Its my first year in GT-1, the car is just wicked, we even used it at the Canadian Solo II Championship in PEI. That was FUN, kinda tricky, tight corners were tough!

The car in my Avatar is our other car, which will also be there, its a Trans-Am Camaro, with 670hp, it has done a 1:23.2, last year, we are hoping to be in the low 22 range this year. The car had 630hp last year, this year we have a torsen LSD instead of a locker and we are running Hoosiers, which gave us a full second at Watkins Glen.

I look forward to meeting you guys.

Mosport is one fast, scary, challenging but above all FUN track. As Maxi said it's a track where big ***** pay off. Regardless, you will love the elevation changes, the sweeping corners and the back straight where your car will not doubt really get a chance to stretch its legs.

I'll be joining Maxi and ITR Racer at some point on Saturday - hope to get a chance to say hi!

Paul, not sure if you've seen this already but if you haven't you might find it useful. It's a corner by corner analysis of the track from the Porsche Club of America.

cool link, Caius! The video footage is really nice and gives a sense of the elevation changes. I called Turn 4 'Depends Undergarments corner' because it may just cause you to poop your pants And hey, a couple of those dentists in their Porsches were quick! Shocking but true...

The video is cool but it does absolutely no justice to the elevation changes. They all look so tame on the video when in fact they are anything but. Awesome awesome track!

Thanks for the link Caius.
I have been watching our incar stuff from last year, and playing Grand Prix Legends like a fool too I have a good mental picture of the track I think, now I just have to get out there and do it.
See you guys up there.

Did you guys make it to Mosport? I noticed a couple Civics, but I wasn't sure who they were. I was keeping an eye out for your car in the paddock maxi, but I didn't see it.

I had a blast, took me a bit to get onto the track, but eventually it worked out well, until my motor blew.........
What a track, pucker factor in a few spots, big speed.
I got down from a 1:43 on saturday morning to a 1:33 before I had to stop on sunday , I am pretty sure I would have reached a 1:30 if I could have done the last sprint race, it was coming together pretty good in the first race on sunday before it let go.
I will be back next year. I hope to do Tremblant as well, that place rocks.

Hi Paul,

I made it out as a spectator on Saturday and I dropped by your paddock but you guys were wrenching like mad on the Camaro so I didn't want to interrupt. I saw your post on the CASC-OR forum (teutonic.ca) and was very impressed to see how much speed you picked up over the weekend. Nice work and glad to hear you enjoyed the track despite your engine woes

Hope to see you next year!

Cheers,
Dave

I would like to race a Honda, I currently solo I/II my Si, but as long as I can afford to drive a GT-1 car, I will do that. But........
I will eventually have to give up on this situation, costs are way too high, sponsorship is very hard to get, especially here in Halifax. I don't own the car, they are friends and they give me unbelievable deals on running it, we use old tires off the Camaro and try and keep the cost down on it, using interchangeable parts on both cars, motors, trannies etc.
I hope to get into the Camaro sometime next year though, just once, it is very quick, next level up, it ran low 1:23's all weekend.
