jumping a car.....putting connectors on the wrong way = nasty affects. :P
Yea, I'm happy to say I didn't do it but I was helping my friend jump his car. I pulled my truck in front of his can and he wired them together. Problem is, on my truck, first of all it was dark outside...AND on top of that, the rubber coverings on my batter for the "+" is black for some reason. Usually it's red...the "-" side is missing the plastic covering....anyway, since he couldn't see the marks on the battery, so he connected the black wire to the side with the black covering on my battery.
So when he connected his accord, sparks flew around and the battery started to smoke....it was horrible.
Then I got out of the truck and got a flashlight and wat do you know, the black plastic covering on my battery is the positive!
Amazingly, we fixed the wiring and his car started right up. I would've thought all the electronics would be hozed.

not from what I could tell...interior lights still worked, turn signals, head lights, stereo, A/C..everything seems to be working fine
