Default 2008 Odyssey Transmission clunk, Brakes, Vibration, and other issues.

Anyone who has the same van (i would guess '05-'10) please chime in.

1) When decelerating from the freeway, generally getting off an offramp, when comming to a coast, around 25mph, the transmission will downshift and clunk, i have never had this in any other vehicle except for my civic hybrid. I bought this van new, and have since changed the transmission fluid myself once. It has 25,000 miles on it

2) The brakes always feel like faded brakes do, like after a few laps around the track on OE pads.

3) When taking off from a stop, the engine vibrates just a tad, say from 750-1200rpm.

I have extensive mechanical knowledge with engines, etc, I was just wondering if other people have the same issues with their '05-'10 Odyssey's

Thanks.

I would take it back to Hind while the warrantee is still in effect.

I just might, i wanted some input before having to deal with the incompetence at the stealership... If this is the way these are, there is no point taking it there.

my mom has an 05 odyssey and i know there is a transmission recall and brake recall on the 05+ models i believe. I would bring it to the dealership.

What your saying is accurate to what i have read online, however, i called the stealership (Diamond Honda, City of Industry) yesterday and they asserted there is no such recall for the brakes or the transmission.

They did however state that there is a "technical service bulletin" which "suggests" that these things be looked over, but not required. The service writer did not seem to know very much about it as is expected from a next-to-minimum wage employee... He said there is a "reflash" program for the transmission clunking noise but it is not required. http://dvpatel.homelinux.com/forumfiles/SB/A09-053.PDF

He did not know anything about the (TSB link added):
1) squishy brakes

not to mention its a recalled item, but the dealership knew nothing about it:

2) wind noise in the door
http://dvpatel.homelinux.com/forumfiles/SB/A08-080.PDF

3) or the low RPM vibration issue...its more like a groan, and not like the vibration from a broken rear mount.

I'm not here to bash the dealership, i am here to find some answers for everyone who has this car, as our odyssey forum is a bit weak compared to the other model Honda's we have
