Default Cable trans/hydro parts?

Hi guys. Forgive me if my questions can be answered in the faqs, but I didnt seem to find what Im looking for.
Ive got a cable trans on my 90 ls swap setup Im building for my EF street/drag car.
I want to beef up the trans so I dont break anything once I get the motor built and boosted.
Ive been looking at either a spool or a lsd but most that I see are for the newer hydro trannys, as well as most axles from the drive shaft shop.
My question is what parts can I use between the trannys? Such as differentials, clutches gearsets, and what not.
Is my best bet to keep the cable case, since my mounts are for the cable setup? Or pickup a new hydro trans and get a cable to hydro conversion for the car?
Id like to run a twin disk clutch with my setup, and my hp goal is around 500hp or so.
Id like to have a trans that will hold up ok to this power when I do get traction.
Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Get a '92 - '93 Integra YS1 tranny. These are basically internally identical to a hydro tranny (you can swap the guts out of a hydro tranny into them and vice versa) They're also stronger than the '90 - '91 trannys.

YS-1 is the way to go. Lots more options when it comes to gearing and more parts availability.

so get this:

im running the outer portion of a cable gsr trans and the hydro bottom of a hydro unit. the 3 pole setup, with all hand picked gears(stock of course) along with an lsd. so in theroy yes you can mix match cable casings and hydro parts/casings. just do your homework and search here on h-t.
