Default Cleaning bolts/screws and lips?

ok so i got my winters on and im taking apart my work rsb, ive heard of ppl throwing all the screws in a bowl with something and it takes the rust and grease off leaving them like new. Does anyone know what they use? and what can i use to clean the lip? will a super thin scuff scratch them? lmk Thanks..

This is more a question for the Wheels and Tires technical forum here on Honda-Tech then the picture thread in the 7th Gen. Civic forum, to be honest. Either way, I'd recommend borrowing a tumbler or purchasing one.

Poor example: http://www.harborfreight.com/5-lb-me...ler-67617.html

With the tumbler you can remove rust and polish the hardware all at once.

Well, first of all, a 205/45/16 is horribly undersized for your car. If you have an EX, go with a 215/50/16. If not, go with a 205/50/16.

degreasing is easy, pick up some purple zep cleaner from home depot. If you're feeling cheap, just use some dish or laundry detergent.

For rust, apparently soaking in lemon juice works. I can't find the vwvortex thread but theres a guy who left his rusty timing cover in a container of lemon juice for a week and it was nearly rust free
