Default 05 CR-V Headlights go out a lot

My mom has an 05 CR-V, and both headlights seem to burn out at least once a year. Is this normal? Because with all the cars I've had, I have only had one car thats ever had a headlight go out, and that was one the 93 teg taht I have now. The taillights on the car never go out, just the headlights at least once a year, one time it was the fuse, but it is almost always the bulbs.

what bulbs are you using? I had this issue with my elantra and i was using silvania silverstar bulbs and was replacing them every 8-12 months. switched to a regular bulb and never had an issue after that.

If she takes it to walmart then most likely there installing the silverstars. there junk. do your self a favor, go to autozone and get some regular bulbs for it and install them your self, shouldnt be an issue after that. good luck

Also be sure nto to touch the bulb and dont clean it with alchohol if you dont have to

Ok, ill give that a try. i have also read on another forum that a lot of people were having problems with water getting into the connectors, so ill make sure to tape those up with some electrical tape too.

My wife's '05 does the same thing. Only thing I have noticed is she likes to turn her lights on before she engages the starter so I figure the voltage spikes or maybe an electrical grounding during starting causes it.
If you figure something else out let us know.
I use stock replacement bulbs not silverstars...

it's the silverstars, that's about how long they last.

+1 for silver stars lasting about as long as a candle.

i also thought of a walmart tech touching the bulb during installation.
