partial tube chassis 240sx build thread
I know this is HONDA tech, but this is an awesome fab section and there is plenty of non honda stuff in here, so why not a little more.
I started on this car when I was 17 and its gone through some serious changes
heres how it looked when I was 17

then my first round of turbo'ing when i was 19

started to polish the volks. yes, they are from 1991

and where its at now, hopefully will be a full painted roller by spring

And this is what its like as of today. this has been my test dummy and how I have learned any fab "skills" I have today. Im 21 now, graduate college in 2012, and hope to have the car together by then.
I need a damn chassis table!!!!!!

the turbo manifold is just on their for *****, im making a whole new setup, and going with a precision turbo. but here is how it sits after 4 hours of cutting and re building

I wasnt happy with it. I now have all the room I want for an lsx engine and two turbos some day in the future, and a solid place to mount it
and thanks!
and thanks!

it also help that your dad/parent have such a nice building for you too work in. not hating, but a clean, well supplied environment allows growth of your skills in leaps and bounds. good job so far.
iv been paying my dues for a looong time though. its fun now though, we both have super involved projects going on, and we get ideas from one another.
cant say my dad didnt teach me alot, and gave up his personal woodshop for me to convert into my car shop while i was still living at home. thumbs up to dads!

What's the reasoning for staying with a Mac strut design up front when all your suspension mounts are going to be custom anyway? Just didn't want to deal with all the geometry computations and measurements that come with designing a proper double wishbone setup, or some other reason (not allowed by race class, etc)?

Been slowly working on it. School, work, and doing a lot of fab work on the side doesnt leave much time for it.
Here are a few pics. Starting to get the strut towers made. Decided to stay with the Macpherson strut style for time and effort sake.
