Im done searching! DOHC zc wont start!
I have a 1990 civic lx sedan with a dohc zc
So I figured it was the main relay cuz I was going 65 on the highway and all of a sudden the car dies, doesnt bog down or jerk or stall it just dies.....
The dizzy is brand new and so is the fuel pump... I dont hear the humming of the fuel pump anymore so most likely thats my problem... but before I change that cuz time is crucial... I would like to know if there is anything else it could be.... is there a fuse for the fuel pump? is there anything that controls the fuel pump other than the main relay? please help, christmas is so close and i need my car for my kids... =/
also is there any other applications I can get the fuel pump from other than a 88-91 civic?
can I change the fuel pump from getting under the backseat or do I have to drop the tank?

Are you getting spark? Check all your grounds too, especially the one at the thermostat housing. Its always something that simple.
About the fuel pump, You can use use any civics and integras, just the pump, not the whole bracket. Also, I think 4dr's dont have to drop the tank, to get to the pump. Not 100% on that. Good luck bro.

I have changed it I went to the junkyard like 15 times and changed out like 3 of them and finally just got a new one and none of them work.. not even the new one...
hey bro it may sound dumb but just the wires at the fuel pump for power then ohm test them going back to the main relay you may just have a broke wire between the relay and pump bro thats all i can think since everyone else is saying main relay if in doubt you need to get it going you could just send power directly to the pump just a thought if you need to keep it going of course either way good luck with it
check the ecu fuse seriously i spent hundreds of dollars trying to troubleshoot my hatch and it turns out thats all it was... might also have a bad ecu..
Well tomorow I will check the wires leading to the fuel pump and see if im getting any power. I am also going to replace all fuses under the hood and dash if they are bad. If that doesnt do it then it must be the fuel pump cuz im gettin no fuel. Doesnt make sense cuz the fuel pump is only 10 months old. Is there a way to get to the fuel pump from the back seat or do you have to drop the tank?
1st see if the red light on the ECU blinks once when you turn the key to ON position
If no blink, check the15?A HAZARD fuse in the engine bay fuse box
Check for spark
Open distributor and check that the rotor screw didnt fall off

good adivce, one time i had my rotor screw fall off and did the same thing.plus check the ignitor wires makes sure there good and tight.have also had them come lose and my car just shut off.also your 15amp fuse may have blowen.
Check cap+rotor firstly. It takes seconds to do, literally. Then check ECU if it blinks/stay lit/nothing. If NOTHING or it permanently stays lit then check fuse HAZARD. If none of those are the problem then check to hear for fuel pump priming. If it does, check spark plugs. Check for bad grounds. I shouldn't be too wrong but there is a ground on Valve Cover/Transmission/Thermostat, and I believe there is 1 more, someone will fill it in for me :]. There's also a post in the CRX/CIVIC FAQs about how to troubleshoot a "No Start".

Check altanator fuse. Same thing happen to my brothers 93 integra... the fuse blew the car had no spark an fuel pump would not run... makes no sence but after replacing the fuse car started right up not sure if it will work but woth a try
Thank you tony! that was the problem, replaced the little 10amp fuse and bam! the car started up and ran as perfectly as before.... I just wonder why the fuse poped? Can it just happen sometimes?
Glad I helped yea it had me and bro stumped when it happened spent 4 hours trubble shooting the dam thing we shoulda checked fuses first haha. And ya I guess they must just pop sometimes. And I want to kno why honda has the fuel pump and dizzy coil ran off the altanator fuse????
