Vehicle FS: 94 del Sol Si
sup all, this is just to test the waters since i'm waiting on a possible taker, but they're not answering their phone atm and i need to get rid of this by tomorrow since i'm picking up a new sol. negotiable, and can possibly deliver to an agreed location. will deliver to a home only with paypal.
the details:
94 del Sol Si, red, 5-speed
315,xxx miles
$750 OBO, highly negotiable
* did not carfax the car before buying, i know nothing about this car other than from when i've driven it. bought it from a coworker, just needed a car for work
* been in an accident - rear ended. rear bumper hanging on largely by zip ties, but only needs the support brace it's supposed to be mounted to in order to sit right again. just never got around to actually ordering it.
* has the typical cancer, particularly the right rear wheel well
* driver's outer handle doesn't open door. at the point in time it popped i'd had enough of the damages and just dealt with getting in from the passenger side to open the driver's door. i think it can be fixed i just don't care to do it myself
* oil leak, i think a bad gasket at the VTEC solenoid. slow though
* tranny's due for a new clutch and pops out of second gear if you're not careful
* needs new bushings on the front end, car squeaks and creaks when weight is shifted to the front
* stock muffler snapped off at the pipe a few weeks back (not that the muffler was intact either
). shouldn't matter to anyone, most people change that right away to begin with
* has the infamous del Sol roof and trunk leaks. previous owner sealed the roof weatherstripping up with silicone sealant, but still leaks a bit
* fuel gauge does not go all the way to E, stops about 1/4" before. i use the trip meter to guess when it's time to refuel, usually around 220 miles in city, 248ish ll-highway
* brake pads replaced 3 weeks ago, philips x-treme headlight bulbs 2 months ago
* ny inspection sticker good thru 9/11
* there won't be a radio, keeping that
* viper alarm, busted remote start option but alarm itself still works
* 3 keys, 2 remotes
* removed glove to install 93 glove box. didn't have all the pieces to install, never bothered to finish it. can toss in with the car without a problem
* black steelies on it right now, unknown tread. car came with 3 of 4 Sol Si rims. can toss those in without a problem as well
that's about all i can think of. basically you're looking at this if you need a beater, sol parts or a project car. the body's largely fine and would make a good candidate for strip and rebuild. d16z6 motor still runs strong, i've taken it up and down the east coast all year without issues, nyc/nj to nc, and about as far west to about lancaster county, pa. never faltered on any of my trips. can probably do with a rebuild and boost if you don't plan to swap, you just need to rebuild the tranny or find another S20 tranny. i've been told they can be found for about $100. or tear down and replace the worn synchros with carbon coated synchro-tech synchros. either way, a cheap honda and a good starting point. if i don't sell it by tomorrow early afternoon it's going to the junker. will not part. can take some pics but it's getting dark so they'll look like *****. hit me up with offers!
