Did a search and posted before on this topic. Basically, I want to know how much top end suffers with the ATS and how it affects highway driving.

I have driven in an ATS equipped vehicle and didn't notice that the RPMS were beyond 5500 in top gear at around 80 mph, but if anyone has experienced anything differently let me know. If it does make highway driving miserable then I will look at the ITR final drive. Thanks.

Search in the ITR forum. Many many topics about it over there. I believe even a few had gearing vs speed graphs.

Define miserable!
BTW -- I do believe the GSR and ITR final drives are both 4.40:1, its the actual gear ratios that are different!

The GSR and ITR fd are 4.40.

ATS hands down over the JDM fd, IMO.

yeah..the stock rpm @ 80 is a much more comfortable 4500 rpm! are you serious? it is only 300 more rpm. 500 more for the ATS 4.929. nothing. nada. sounds like you might be in the market for a Lincoln Towncar. those are much more comfortable at 80 on the highway. sheesh.....

tell me how fast i was going those other times when the road was open....you really need earplugs...and i only have the friggin jdm fina!!!

oh, and another thing... part throttle cruising at 70 or 80 i can barely hear my car! this is with no sound deadening, no rear seats (nice fuel pump humm) test pipe and beat down packing in a thermal exhaust. audibly, it is almost like driving my stock 99 si. if the funds allow it, just get a ATS. you will not be let down.

Chad's car is not exactly what I would call "quiet", if this is his H1 car we're talking about. The exhaust on that thing is HUGE, and has a very distinctively loud bark to it.

so, basically it is loud (ie sucks nads) because of the exhaust not necessarily the ATS then, correct?
