I,m going to be making some carbon fiber parts for the CRX and Civic. I,m only going to make parts that reduce weight. I,m making a drag racing dash, pretty much a place for gauges and switches.
Also thinking about the middle tail light reflector, and glove box.

Give me some more ideas, again things that will reduce weight and are not made.

 

Door panels? I saw some in a sti looked hella sharp because it was basically a streetable race car so it wasn't just a bare door

 

How about the doors themselves? Trunk hatch?

 

How about a sun roof replacement panel I need one NOW, lol.

 

I'm interesting in the Door Carbon Fiber for CRX

 

Door cards would be great, an easy one I did was the "triangle" corners on the rex..they came out sweet. I would like to see a glove box done or the cluster hood.I need the e-brake console too.
as far as the sunroof...Vision made them( I have one).

 

How about hood for CRX to enclose/cover a B22 engine, 2.2 liter. It sits up way higher than original engine.

I have in my CRX Hood CArbon Seibon, Fender Carbon Seibon, Mirror Carbon Seibon, Mugen Spoiler Carbon Seibon. I want the Door I think is will be nice.

Guys talks about saving weight but only wants to do glove box, gauge faces and taillights?? All those oem pieces weight about 5 pounds COMBINED, your carbon parts would proably be heavier

Want to save weight?? carbon hatch, carbon hood, lexan rear windows. 125 pounds saved

 

Carbon fiber windshield.. Carbon fiber tires.. Carbon fiber taillights, headlights, and gas tank cover

 

Make a Carbon Fiber roof cap and dont go out of business the next day......seems that is what happened to the last 10 companies leaving a bunch of us high and dry. Make a mold from a non sunroof crx roof so us si guys can delete our sunroofs and gain head room. I would definately buy one and drive up to pick it up!!!!!!

All the haters can keep it to bull to themselves. This is a technical forum, not a "here is my opinion" forum.

 

Just fiberglass a layer over your stock skin and ditch the sunroof and motor, you could probly do it for a hundred bucks

 

Daveb91 has the right idea...carbon fiber roof panel. Replacing a rusty one with a carbon piece would solve an issue many of us have. In many racing programs it is required that the sunroof hole be covered with a solid piece, metal or other. CF would be a great application.

On the business end, there should be a big market and they should be reasonable to produce and ship.

I have a cf replacement functional sunroof panel now......but I would really like the added headroom. I'm 6'3" and wearing a helmet sucks in the Si.

 

Definitely dig the door and sunroof ideas! Would buy both!
