S.Drives vs Ziex 912
Just thought I'd share this picture and see if anyone has had any direct comparisons with these two tires for everyday driving.
What your looking at is 2 stacks of wheels. On the right is 15x7 with 195/50 S.Drives, on the left is 16x7 205/45 Ziex 912s WITH cardboard stacked between each wheel to protect the face. Hard to really tell, but overall the stack on the right is about an inch taller. You'd think the 205's would have been the wider of the two. Falken advertises section width at 8" and tread width at 7.3 while Yokohama advertises a 7.8 and 7.0.
Looking at 1 of each wheel side by side still shows that the S.drive has a wider tread width. Just thought it was wierd.

Lots of tires vary in size, even when labeled as the same size.
These are two entirely different tires, BTW. The Yokohama S.drive is a summer tire, a pretty good one too; it will grip much much MUCH better than the all-season Falken Ziex ZE-912, in rain and on dry pavement, as long as the temperatures are above freezing. The ZE-912 is an all-season tire, a cheap one and not one of the best; like all all-season tires, it's a compromise, designed to do okay in light snow (although not as well as winter tires) and okay in moderate to warm temperatures (although not as well as summer tires).

The S Drives are known to run wide.
I have the 912's on the summer wheels for my daily driver. The car was never pushed very hard, so there isn't much I can comment on. The one thing that did stand out is that they're quiet. Big difference in road noise between these and the Fuzion HRi's that are on the stock wheels.
