ep3 - HELP PLEASE, car broke... lights for check engine, charging system, eps, more
I was driving today and out of nowhere the check engine, charging system (red battery), and eps lights on my dash all came on. At the same time, my speedo stopped working and my power steering was lost.
I pulled the car into a parking lot. Turned it off. Turned it back on. Eps light went off (others were still on), I started driving home and power steering was working. About half way home (maybe 3-4 minutes driving) the eps light turned on and power steering stopped working again.
I am at a loss as to what could be causing this.
Nothing out of the ordinary happened, I was driving this car yesterday and had no problems. I had been driving for about 15 minutes today with no problems, nothing strange, then all of a sudden everything went to poop.
When I got home I checked the belt, its fine and all pulleys seem to be turning fine.
Any suggestions?
I've tried searching numerous forums, but have found nothing helpful really.
Thank you for your time.
PS.
It is winter where I'm at (near Cleveland, Ohio), which means its snowy and cold. The last few days the car has been taking a bit longer than normal to start. It sits outside in the cold and I have no idea how old the battery is (at least 2 years, which is how long I've had the car) so I havent thought much of it. I thought I would mention that as maybe its relevant.

Can you give me more details about the car? Have you ever changed or replaced the clutch or axles? Stock suspension, wheels, etc?
You might want to check the fuse relay with a multimeter if you have one, it might be going bad. Here's a link on how to do that:

That makes the most sense to start trouble-shooting from there. You can also test your battery to make sure it's pulling about 13v.
Figured it out, blown alternator fuse. Guess that's why you don't check fuses in the dark. Glad it was an easy fix.
