help on swap
i have a 91 hf and i am told that i need si/dx hub knuckles. do i really need them? about how much will these cost if i go to a junk yard what price should i be looking to spend? later
Depends on what axles you using. If using you HF axles no need for other spindles. But if going with a B16A like seeing in your signature. you need SI, DX, EX, or Teg. I would suggest the Tegs or Ex spindles of a 90-91. There about a inch larger. Heard Tegs throw camber off a bit but I never noticed any problems.
i dont even know what the hub knuckle is...or whatever it is called...can someone tell me what i need...im going with a b16a swap form hondamotorsonline.com so the axels they gave me im using...so can someone tell me what to ask a parts store for what i need? thanks
Go to a junk yard and get the front spindle assembly. You may need new rotors and calipers. If your using Si/DX spindles you can use your rotors and calipers again. If you go with a 90-91 civic EX or integra you need calipers and rotors for those spindles. A spindle is the part that your wheel goes and part of you suspension its mounts in 3 places using ball joints and has a bolt running thru it for your front strut shackle. Will cost about 100.00 for both if you luck up. The HF axles has a smaller outer CV joint then 90-91 tegs so you must change it. You can replace the hub only but that may cost more then getting junk yard parts.
