Default question about y8 with a6 head

my friend has a y8 block and his a6 took a dive but the head is still good. The oiling port on the block where the restricter is is bigger on the a6 block so he is not able to put the restricter in the y8 block to use a6 restrictor. Anyone ever made this work and how. Also does anyone know if the exhaust valves are the same on the y8 vs the a6 and i'm pretty sure the intake valves are bigger on the y8 but can anyone confirm this

Look in the FAQ, I did a write up using a Z6 block with an A6 head and ran into the same issue. You'll see how I modified the oil control jet.
