Default does my stock flywheel weigh 6 tons?

seriously, holy ****, how much does the stock flywheel weigh? or is it something else? it takes SO long for the engine to slow down after I push the clutch in. is it just because my car is so new or are they all like this? searched but couldn't find anything.

It's heavy enough to maintain driveability of the car if you plan on using it as a daily driver. Getting a lighter flywheel takes some getting-used-to and also makes it easier to stall the engine.

What you're referring to sounds like rev hang. If you really want to eliminate that without dropping the dough on a lighter flywheel install just get the Hondata Flashpro.

Agreed Rico, sounds like Rev hang. I feel the same way David, the first time I drove a Si I could not get past how heavy the rotating assembly felt in the car.

Flashpro really helps.

cool, please do keep us posted. I would like to stay away from anything ECU related because the car doesn't even have 1500 miles on it and I don't want to **** myself over on the warranty like I did on my Mustang. and my Celica. and my STI. it's a common issue for me, if you can't tell...

with the flashpro, you can return the ecu programming to stock when going in for warranty work. there aren't any outward visible changes with the flashpro; you program the ecu through the obd port.

Bah, warranties are for sissy girls haha I think I had I/H/E and Hondata before I had 4000 miles... But honestly though Hondata wont really void warranty if you unmarry it from the car before you take it back every time. As well Hondata drastically reduced rev hang. and if youre that worried about warranty I would not put pullies on, I could easily argue from a dealer's standpoint on why I wouldnt cover anything on the car engine and accesory related

The flashpro works exceptionally well, but just to clarify on warranty issues:

If something drastic was to happen like blowing your engine, etc. where it is no longer driveable, the Honda HDS scanner can pick up the freeze frame data from the PCM and will be able to detect that it has been reset. You need to log several "drive cycles" after returning to stock before returning to your honda dealer to keep the flashpro from being detected.

Normal spool down of the engine, flywheel I guess weighs abot 30-40lbs? Not sure lol....When are you pushing the clutch in ? If your at 6000rpm it will hang for a bit lol, At colder temps the throttle is blipped open by the PCM between shifts for emission reasons to promote more swirl in the cylinders ....lighter flywheel sounds good to me
