250 shot on a h22, am i crazy?!
the engine is eventally going to be turbo, but i spent all the money on building, and now no money for turbo, so i bought dp n2o to hold me over. ive seen 500+ whp on h22 turbo, so i was thinking it would take 250 shot, is my thinking totally wrong? what would be the biggest shot?
the engine: h22a1, resleeved, eagle rods,10:1 je pistons w/sharp edges sanded down, je rings, all bottom end balanced, comentic head gasket to drop cr to 9.5:1, hondasaver springs, .5mm oversized ss exhaust valves

you can do 250 easily just make sure u retard it. i think retard 2 for every 50shot.

250 shot on on h22a? your timing is not the only thing that must be retarded.

ya, i know a turbo would yield more power, thats what i plan to do...i just dont have the money for iot right now... i have all the parts for the n2o and i just picked a #. i was really just wondering whats the highest anyone has ran w/out blowing it. i've ran 75 on a stock block, and know people that have run 100+ on stock engine. i figure it should be pretty high w/forged parts.
and there is 2 reasons i got 10:1 and a thicker head gasket.
1st the 10:1 was in stock and wouldn't take a month to ship, and i got a killer deal since they aren't custom order.
2nd i am not going to have a standalone at first, so i figure it will help me tune in the beginning, after my stand alone i plan on bumping compression somewhere around 10-10.5:1 and HIGH psi

Unlike everybody else i think your motor will take that shot no problems if you avoid detonation, your motor is built and the only thing you have to worry about is severe heat from detonation that melts aluminium like butter, if you avoid detonation (retarding timing, adding fuel etc) then you should be fine that motor is built up pretty well to take some n20, contact the piston and valve manufacturers to find out how much of a shot their products can handle or your local nitrous speedshop. Hurry and get your turbo.
everybody else...BTW I have seen a mustang with a 500 shot before that still runs today, heck I've even seen a honda civic running pure NITRO METHANE!! Contrary to popular belief nitrous is not from the devil.

intresting topic. what ur proposing is runing roughly 25psi, if we can say that 1lb of boost is = to 10hp. i dont see any turbo cars runing 25 psi w/ out a standalone or pretty much on the most part, ever. i say u jet it down a bit, 125 and jet upwards. when my motor finally get s done ill be doin the same thing but at 125. im still debating on using a staged system or progressive controller..sigh, i had a jacobs and they blow dick. good luck though , i wanna hear how it goes.
i have seen 20 psi and 100 shot on a non standalone motor.
........and adding 250 hsp by way of turbo is much different than adding a 250 shot of nitrous.

ive never seen it and i know its much different. i was simply making a comparison of what sorts of fuel and timing mods should be considered.

he made over 425 to the wheels on around a 50-75 shot plus inlinepro turbo set up. went 10.80's this weekend on a ecu and afc. no standalone.
he has a full interior 5th gen with body kit and integra interior.
his car is not light.

Sounds like a quick way to turn a $5k+ motor into a pile of junk. Rethink it, progressive or not, it's not wise dancing with the devil to the tune of a 250shot.

) , ACl bearings, balanced bottem end, pro clutch, skunk2 cam gears, fluidyne radiator, quaife diff, dss stage 3 and many more. I spent all this money and screw it up because of nitrous. God know how much i spent on this crx project
. If you don't have the money for turbo, find a sponsor it's not easy to find a sponsor though. I don't know a lot of people in this business, not yet. Anyway, don't do it. YOu are not far from boosting. My crx will be ready to run by the end of the year no matter what. Sponsor or no sponsor.

i guess im going w/150 shot to start with, then well see from there. a friend of mine's cousion is running a 150 shot on a stock block...i told him he's crazy but he's been through 2 bottles, i give it 1-2 more, but thats a stock internal engine...
does the aem ems offer a progressive n2o option? then i would have i more part towards my boosting.
