Default Battery or electrical problem?

I'm sorry for the noob post, but I've never been the wire type. I just came back from my lunch break with a friend from work, pulled into the nearest parking space, turned off the engine, and began rolling up my windows. The car made a weird straining noise, and all of a sudden everything went dead. My car wouldn't turn on or start, I couldn't lock my doors, I couldn't roll up my windows, and my alarm wouldn't work. About 10-15 minutes later (after I took a...nevermind) i tryed it again, and kept trying to start the car untill it finally worked. Two hours later when I got to my girlfriends house the same thing happend. I don't know if its the alternator, the battery, I think there is corrosion around the pos and neg but it was never a problem before.

You said that it worked again after a while... So it's a problem that's coming and going? Have you been able to start the car since? Any power coming from the battery at all? What's your voltage reading when the car is off? If you're able to start the car, what's the voltage after you start it? If you can't start, does the starter at least crank? What's the voltage when you're cranking?

Sounds like either a weak battery and/or bad connections at the battery. Either way, remove the cables from the battery terminals, clean them with baking soda and water, hook em back up and try that. This may be a simple fix to a weird problem. Good Luck.

Main relay?
The main relay would only effect starting not other electrical pieces.

I would clean the battery posts, and if that dose not work have the battery tested.

I agree, I ve had something similar happen to me before and it turned out to be a loose battery terminal.
