I am helping you out by telling you its a bad decision. You created a thread and asked for everyones input, and that is my position on it. If you can't handle the critisim then don't create a thread.
well thinks for the unhelpful input and the unneeded critisim ...but if any know knows about that set up and can help me cause if it not good ill go back to looking for a stock d16 to boost lol
well i only hsve the motor and i been want to build a sohc but thanks every one for the info i will pass up the trade
I think you should do what you want. You have to drive the car everyday not anyone else. People love to hate on the single cams.
IMO if you had a complete LS setup , I would keep it. I am not sure what kind of "High comp" pistons he has for the d15. I would try and get more info if I were you.

does it have the d15b crank in it ? if not the guy is full of ****. the d15b rods have bigger journals and wont fit on the usdm d15 cranks. just letting you know.
going smaller would never be a good idea. the LS motor will have alot more potential then said D motor. plus it sounds shady if this guy is claiming ****. ask for the proof of what hes got.
Unless you have a pretty high budget, time and resources (like madmood does) building a D15 NA will not only be a waste of time/money but probably and big let down as well. If it was going to be a TRACK CAR ONLY (like madmood) then running a 15:1 motor and making 170whp would be alright. Dailying that....is a different story. The fact that throwing a Vtec head on the LS bottom end with ITR cams and a tune would make your car faster then the D15 you throw 5k in.
You asked for opinions so were giving em to you. Dont turn a blind shoulder to the truth/facts as in the long run it will only hurt more.

u rather keep the LS, u can port the head, add higher lift cams, higher compression pistons, intake and header and u'll smoke that all motor d series high comp motor all day!
OH and PS its speedfactoryracing.net for your sig
well i dont have the full b swap just the motor and little stuff and i was thinking of tradeing it to build a sohc for boost so i can just use my si trans in my car ....so think every one for the info i had a feeling that guy was bull shiting me about it being high comp lol
Yea and I was just reiterating it to him and spelling it out very blatantly. I love your car BTW, unique and looks like a ton of fun to tune/build/race and try to better. Just I am 99% sure you would never wanna drive it as a DD.

But honestly if you want to have fun with the single cam, boost it. I am lucky to have both N/A & a boosted D. I like me N/A better. But for street driving fun. Its got to be the turbo d.
