Default battery died on 2009 honda civic

Hi,
I have 2009 Honda civic. I forgot to turn of some device in it which killed battery on it. I was able to jump start it but have following queries and appereciate if somebody can respond to it:

1) Do I need to take this one to any honda shop and let it checked? do not wanna spend any money if it is not necessary but need some expert opinion.
2) its CD player and time clock not working and when I tried to play it is giving message enter code. How can I enter code?
3) Are there any other devices which needs this code to be entered again.

Would like to play safe so need some help from forum for this.

Thanks

Once it has been jump started, your alternator will charge it when you are driving it. No need to have it checked out by Honda.

The code you are getting is for the radio code. It should have been given to you with your owners manual/packet.

There are no other devices to enter the code, it's just the radio.

From what I know, you just use the radio present number buttons to type in the code. I don't quite remember the whole process since I have a non factory radio but I believe there is a step by step instruction in the owners manual.

Many auto parts stores, such as Autozone, will test your battery for free (in the car or removed) and will also charge your battery (out of the car) for free. Testing only takes 5 minutes tops and speed charging takes fifteen minutes to an hour.

If you have a small charger put it on it's lowest setting and let the battery come up, over 3 or 4 hours, those batterys will have what is called a surface charge, everything will work but when you need the battery like on a -10 morning.

They need a long slow low power charge to bring the battery back to 100%, in the old days battery's were designed to quick charge buy the cars alt. now they need a slower charge over a longer period of time.

This was solved in my Son’s 2009 Honda Civic and was due to a parasitic draw from the Air Conditioning Relay\Fuse. Once we replaced the A/C relay\fuse, no more battery drain. Starts everytime now.

The troubleshooting we found to isolate this was SIMPLE. Drive the car until the Battery is fully charged, pull the negative from the Battery, if it starts the next morning, it is a parasitic draw most likely from the A/C relay if it does not start, then get your Alternator and Starter checked.

We were able to find MANY references to this very issue for Honda’s all over the Internet which is what helped up troubleshoot the issue so quickly. The part cost 30.00 and it was simple to install. Problem was solved.

Good luck !!!
