88 crx SI tranny on 91 d15b2

Default 88 crx SI tranny on 91 d15b2

i got a 91 civic hatch DX for my DD with d15b2 motor,my tranny gave up just today (4 speed) and im getting a 88 crx SI tranny (20 splines).do i have to use a 88 clutch and flwheel or i could use a 91 clutch and flywheel (21 splines)?help would be thankful..

just run a, if i remember right, 88 accord clutch disc. same size as your fly wheel, but has the same spline as the input shaft.

oh, and run a pressure plate for the fly wheel too.

the accord doisc does not work..i tried it on my 91 si flywheel while using an 88 civic si trans. the disc was a diff size and wouldnt work with my 91 pressure plate.

really? i didn't have any problems. of course i went to honda and bought a new one from there. where did you buy yours?

oreily's. it was a dif diameter and fit differently aganst the flywheel. just didnt look right to me. i just bought a clutch kit for the 88. didnt want somethin to go wrong after the install.

not saying they are a bad place to buy from, but that part might have been labeled wrong.
