Default I Searched for a while but no clarification on the Mini-Me

So im going for a mini me swap a6/z6. Getting the head for a good price. Now im wondering about the ecu of course im getting a p28, no doubt. The question is aside from the jumper harness and dizzy jumper. Do i still need to get the ecu tuned cuz i want to stick with a stock one until i get the z6 short block and finish rebuilding it. and any thing else that you guys might recommend me getting so i can build a reliable running mini me; not rich from what ive heard?

What would you need a cam gear for? An A6 block with a Z6 head is essentially a Z6. So a Z6 ECU (P28) will run it as stock. You don't need to "tune" it.

Is your ignition/cam timing set correctly? It sounds like you have a timing issue, not a tuning issue.

i currently have a mini me. a6 block z6 head. stock cam gear/p28 ecu. only prob i had was finding the right timing belt and tensioner combo. z6 belt is too small..a6 belt too long. that was a pain to get right.

well everyone seems to have a grip of opinions on the mini me but i am asking if i would need to tune the air fuel ratio quality due to prevent detonation? i got a z6 head but it looks like it needs alot of work

Okay so heres the build
91 a6 block
z6 head complete with dizzy, IM, fuel rail etc. thinking of using y8 cam if it works?
si cable tranny with a6 axels
Pm7 crankshaft, piston,rods
a6 flywheel?
now im planning to keep it atleast on 91 octane max
now taking advice and recommendations to this build it will go into a slow process preparing
getting parts and everything so im open to opinions and knowledge if something might not work

My brother did a mini me on his EF but he had the B7 block. Should be the same as the A6 block though.

You need

-Z6 head
-P28 ECU (preferably stock)
-Z6 timing belt
-Z6 complete intake manifold.

You dont need to run 91. My brother is tuned with I/H/E and hes still using 87 octane.

Also, if you need a harness let me know. My brother purchased a harness from a friend of mine and it was a custom harness to say. Its a plug and play harness that has OBD1 dizzy plugs, VTEC, and everything else necessary so you wont have to cut and splice your stuff.

Check my threads, his build thread should be there.
